A Message from the Regional Director

As we near the end of yet another North West by-election, I want to take a moment to thank you all for the commitment and dedication you have shown to the Labour Party this year.

The past few months have demonstrated the strength of our movement. Members, councillors and candidates have been out on the doorstep tirelessly, from the May local elections, to the crucial Makerfield by-election, and now the Greater Manchester mayoral by-election. It is your hard work that enables Labour to deliver for our communities, and I want to thank each and every one of you for everything you do.

I also want to pay tribute to our outgoing General Secretary. Holly has given outstanding service to the Labour Party during a period of significant change and success, and we are incredibly grateful for her leadership and dedication.

I also want to thank our outgoing Prime Minister for his leadership and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of working people across the country.

As we enter this new chapter, it is exciting to see the North West represented in Number 10 once again. We know Andy Burnham will bring the same determination and commitment to delivering for people across our region.

I also want to recognise and thank our outstanding regional staff team. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to support our members, campaigns and elected representatives, and this has been one of their busiest years yet. Thank you for everything you do!

With summer now upon us, there is no better time to be out speaking to voters as we prepare for the elections ahead. Next year will be a significant one for Labour in the North West, with major local elections across more than 15 local authorities, the reorganisation of local government in Lancashire, and the first-ever mayoral election in Cheshire.

I encourage everyone to get involved in your local campaign sessions so that we can continue building on our success across the region. Before then, we will have a by-election to win on the 30th July – it would be fantastic to see as many of you over the coming weekends.
