On Thursday 7 May, voters will have a choice between a Labour Party that is easing the cost of living pressure on working people, and parties with no serious answers for families who are still feeling the strain.

At a moment when the world feels more volatile and uncertain, that choice matters more than ever. It matters who is on your side.

Labour is on the side of working people. When we said we would act to ease the cost of living pressure on working people, we meant it.

From this week, millions of people will start to feel the difference a Labour government makes in their everyday lives: wages going up, bills coming down, and more support for those who need it most.

Promises made. Promises kept.

The two child limit is scrapped, lifting almost half a million children out of poverty.

The National Living Wage is rising to £12.71 — giving 2.4 million workers a pay rise worth around £900 a year.

The National Minimum Wage is increasing to £10.85 — boosting pay for more than 200,000 young workers by around £1,500.

Energy bills are being cut by an average of £117 for millions of households.

Prescription charges are frozen.

A new £1 billion Crisis and Resilience Fund is beginning its work to support vulnerable households, including with costs like heating oil.

This builds on the action we have already taken to help with the cost of living: maintaining the cut in fuel duty and expanding support through the Warm Home Discount.

This is the difference a Labour government makes. Promises made. Promises kept. Labour values in action, supporting those who need it most.
