Expat Voter Change
This year’s local elections campaign is well underway in many areas and it’s no surprise that the Tories are pulling every lever to tilt the odds in their favour.
Here’s the latest on how the Tories are moving the goalposts:
Changed the law so British citizens living overseas can vote in UK elections for life now, instead of for up to 15 years
Hired an Overseas Voter Registration Coordinator to turn out 3.5 million eligible expat voters to vote Tory.
They are using the local elections as a practice run to mobilise Tory voters. It’s on us to do the same thing and make every effort to counteract this.
That’s why we are asking today: do you have friends or family who are British citizens living abroad and eligible to vote in UK elections?
Make sure they vote Labour. Please share this with them, so that we can give them all the information they need to cast their ballot.
Every Labour vote counts. Please, if you can help turn out the Labour vote overseas, pass on this information today.
Thank you,
Ellie Reeves MP
Deputy National Campaign Coordinator
